Updating to the Latest Version
Before updating, always create a full backup of your site, including the database. This ensures you can restore your site if anything unexpected occurs during the update process.
Step 1: Verify Your Website
To receive updates, your website must be verified with your Fastw3b access code. Without verification, updates will not appear in your dashboard.
- In your WordPress admin area, navigate to FW Food Menu → Dashboard.
- Locate the Website Verification section.
- Enter your Fastw3b access code in the provided field.
- Save or submit the code to complete verification.
Your access code is available in your account on fastw3b.com. Once verified, your site is authorised to receive update notifications automatically.
Step 2: Run the Update
After your site is verified, updates are delivered through the standard WordPress update mechanism.
- Go to WordPress Dashboard → Updates.
- If a new version of FW Food Menu is available, it will appear in the plugin updates list.
- Select FW Food Menu and click Update Plugins.
WordPress will download and install the latest version automatically. No manual file upload is required.
After Updating
- Visit FW Food Menu → Dashboard to confirm the update was applied successfully.
- Check your menus and front-end output to verify everything is displaying correctly.
- Clear any caching plugins or server-side caches to ensure visitors see the updated version of your site.
Troubleshooting
If the update does not appear in WordPress → Dashboard → Updates, try the following:
- Confirm your access code has been entered correctly in FW Food Menu → Dashboard.
- Click Check Again on the WordPress Updates screen to force a refresh of available updates.
- Ensure your access code is associated with the correct domain in your fastw3b.com account.
