Adding or Editing a Menu Item
Click New to create an item, or click an existing item's title to edit it. The edit form contains the following standard fields:
Title — The meal or drink name displayed on the menu.
Alias — The URL slug used for the item's detail page. Auto-generated from the title, but can be edited manually.
Category — Assigns the item to a parent category. Items are grouped and displayed by category on the frontend.
Price — The base numeric price. Use the global settings to control currency display and trailing zeros.
Short description — Brief text shown on listing cards in the menu view.
Description — Full HTML description rendered on the item's detail page, editable via the WYSIWYG editor.
Status — Set to Published or Unpublished to control frontend visibility.
Ordering — Controls the item's position within its category. Use drag-to-sort to adjust order (see below).

Plugin-Extended Fields
Additional fields appear in the edit form when the corresponding addon is installed and enabled in FW Food Menu → Addons:
Images — Upload or select item photos (requires Image plugin).
Nutritional info — Calories, protein, fat, and carbohydrates (requires Calories plugin).
Ingredients and allergens — Tag items with ingredient and allergen data shown to customers (requires Ingredients plugin).
Price modifiers — Add selectable options or sizes with individual price adjustments (requires Prices plugin).
Meal badges — Assign visual labels such as "New", "Hot", or "Vegan" (requires Meal Badges plugin).
Time availability — Restrict when an item is visible or orderable based on time of day (requires Time plugin).
Sorting Items Within a Category
In the Menu Items list view, items are grouped by category. Drag the order handle on any row to reposition that item within its category. The new order saves automatically. This drag-to-sort ordering is reflected immediately on the frontend menu.
Publishing and Unpublishing
Toggle an item's status directly from the list view by clicking the status icon in the Status column, or change the Status field inside the edit form. Unpublished items are hidden from all frontend views but remain stored in the database.
