Updating to the Latest Version
Before updating, always back up your Joomla site — including the database and all files. This protects your data if anything goes wrong during the update process.
Step 1: Verify Your Website
FW Food Menu requires an active, verified website to receive updates. To verify your site:
- In your Joomla administrator panel, go to FW Food Menu > Dashboard.
- Locate the website verification field and enter your fastw3b.com access code.
- Save the settings. Once verified, your site is authorised to receive update notifications.
Your access code is available in your account on fastw3b.com. Without a valid access code, updates will not appear in the Joomla update system.
Step 2: Run the Update
Once your site is verified, updates are delivered through the standard Joomla update mechanism:
- Go to Extensions > Update in the Joomla administrator panel.
- Click Find Updates to check for available updates.
- Locate FW Food Menu in the list and select it.
- Click Update to install the latest version.
Joomla will download and install the update automatically. You do not need to uninstall the existing version first — updating through this method preserves your existing menus, settings, and content.
After Updating
- Clear the Joomla cache after updating (System > Clear Cache) to ensure the latest files are served.
- Check your menus and front-end display to confirm everything is working as expected.
- If you use template overrides for FW Food Menu layouts, review them after updating, as template files may have changed.
Troubleshooting
If the update does not appear in Extensions > Update after verifying your site:
- Confirm that the access code was saved correctly in FW Food Menu > Dashboard.
- Click Find Updates again to force a fresh check.
- Ensure your server can make outbound connections to the update server.
