Order & Cart Issues
If your cart, order emails, or price modifiers are not working as expected, work through the relevant checks below.
Cart Widget Not Visible
The cart widget is displayed by the FWFM Cart Module (mod_fwfm_cart). If it does not appear on the frontend, check the following:
- FWFM Cart plugin is enabled. Go to Joomla Plugin Manager, search for FWFM Cart, and confirm the plugin is published. Without it enabled, the menu operates in display-only mode and no cart functionality is available.
- Module is published and assigned. Go to Extensions → Modules, locate the FWFM Cart module, and confirm it is published. Check that it is assigned to the correct menu items and that its assigned module position exists and is rendered by your active template.
- Page assignment. If the module is set to display only on selected pages, confirm that your food menu page is included in the assignment list.
Orders Not Received by Email
New orders trigger email notifications to the admin address configured in Settings → Orders. If notifications are not arriving:
- Check the admin email setting. Navigate to FW Food Menu → Settings → Orders and verify the Admin email field contains the correct recipient address. If this field is empty or incorrect, notifications will not reach you.
- Check customer email notifications. If customers are not receiving order confirmations, confirm that Customer email notifications is enabled in the same Orders settings tab.
- Check Joomla mail configuration. Go to System → Global Configuration → Server and review your mail settings. If you are using SMTP, verify the host, port, authentication credentials, and encryption settings are correct. Send a test email from the Joomla mail configuration screen to confirm the connection works.
- Check spam folders. Emails sent via certain server configurations may be filtered. Ask the recipient to check their junk or spam folder and whitelist your sending address.
Price Modifiers Not Showing
Price modifiers allow items to have variant pricing based on options or groups. If modifiers are not appearing on item cards:
- Prices plugin is enabled. Open Joomla Plugin Manager, search for the FWFM Prices plugin, and confirm it is published. Price modifiers will not display if this plugin is inactive.
- Groups are assigned to items. In the menu item editor, check that the relevant price groups or modifier options have been assigned to the specific items where you expect them to appear. A modifier group that exists in settings but is not linked to any item will not be displayed.
- Frontend display. After enabling the plugin and assigning groups, clear your Joomla cache (System → Clear Cache) and reload the menu page to confirm the changes appear.
Orders Cannot Be Placed
If visitors are unable to submit an order, note that orders cannot be placed when the cart is empty or when required checkout fields are left incomplete. Confirm that all mandatory fields — including Name, Phone, and Email — are filled before submission.
