Common Issues
If something is not working as expected, the following checks resolve the most frequently reported problems.
Menu Page Is Blank
A blank menu page is almost always caused by the menu item being unpublished.
- Go to Menus and locate the menu item pointing to your food menu.
- Check that its status is set to Published.
- Save and reload the front end to confirm the page appears correctly.
Menu Items Not Showing
If the menu page loads but individual items are missing, check two things:
- Item published status — Open the item in the FW Food Menu backend and confirm it is set to Published.
- Category assignment — Make sure the item is assigned to a published category. If the category itself is unpublished, all items within it will be hidden on the front end.
Cart Not Working
If the cart does not respond or fails to add items, the most common cause is a disabled plugin.
- Go to Extensions > Plugins in the Joomla administrator.
- Search for the Cart plugin associated with FW Food Menu.
- Confirm the plugin is Enabled. If it is disabled, click to enable it and save.
- Also check the FWFM Addons plugin is enabled in the same Plugin Manager list. Both must be active for cart functionality to work correctly.
Updates Not Appearing
If a new version of FW Food Menu is not showing up in the Joomla update manager, the most likely cause is that your website has not been registered in the FW Food Menu Dashboard.
- Open the FW Food Menu Dashboard in the Joomla administrator.
- Verify that your website is listed and active. If it is not registered, add it and save.
- Return to Extensions > Update and click Find Updates to refresh the update list.
