Understanding the Dashboard
When you open FW Gallery from the Joomla administrator menu, the first screen you see is the Dashboard. It gives you an at-a-glance overview of your gallery site and quick access to the main areas of the component.
Quick Stats
The Dashboard displays two key counters reflecting the current state of your content:
- File count — the total number of media files (images, audio, video) stored in the component.
- Gallery count — the total number of gallery categories currently in the system, including nested subcategories.
These numbers update automatically as you add or remove content, so they always reflect live data.
Website Verification Status
The Dashboard includes a website verification panel. Connecting your site to fastw3b.com through this panel enables the component to check for available updates. If your site is not yet verified, the panel will prompt you to complete verification. Once connected, update notifications appear here so you always know when a new release is available.
Shortcuts to Main Sections
The Dashboard provides direct shortcuts to the primary areas of the component, so you can jump straight to the task at hand without navigating through menus. The shortcut links correspond to the main sections available under the FW Gallery administrator menu:
- Files — add, edit, and manage your media files.
- Categories (Galleries) — create and organise your gallery structure.
- Tags — manage tags assigned to files.
- Addons — view and configure installed addon plugins.
- Settings — adjust global component configuration.
Use the Dashboard as your starting point each time you log in — the stats confirm your content is in order, the verification status keeps your installation up to date, and the shortcuts get you where you need to go in one click.
