What You Get
EXIF and IPTC Parsing
Reads camera metadata (EXIF) and news/stock photo tags (IPTC) on upload. Title, caption, copyright holder, artist, and shoot date fill in automatically from the file.
XMP Adobe Metadata
Parses XMP metadata embedded by Lightroom, Photoshop, and Bridge. Dublin Core fields (title, description, rights, creator) map directly to gallery fields.
Audio ID3 Tags
For audio uploads, the plugin reads ID3v2 and ID3v1 tags via the getID3 library. Artist, album, year, genre, title, and duration populate automatically.
Embedded Artwork Extraction
Album art embedded in MP3 files gets extracted and stored as the cover image. Musicians upload tagged MP3s and the gallery looks complete.
Video Duration and Dimensions
For MP4 uploads, the plugin reads duration and resolution from the container. Remote YouTube and Vimeo embeds get title and dimensions via Open Graph.

Which metadata formats are supported?
EXIF (camera metadata), IPTC-IIM (news and stock photo tags), XMP (Adobe metadata), and ID3v2/v1 (audio tags). The plugin applies parsers in priority order and merges the results.

Does it overwrite my manually entered titles?
No. The plugin only fills empty fields. Any value you enter manually is always preserved.

Can it extract album art from MP3s?
Yes. ID3v2 album artwork is extracted and saved as the gallery cover image for audio files.

What does it read from videos?
For MP4 files, the plugin reads duration and dimensions. For YouTube and Vimeo embeds, it fetches title and dimensions via Open Graph metadata.
