Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this add-on included in my subscription?

    Yes. FWRE Custom Fields is included in the Starter, Professional, and Agency tiers of the FW Real Estate subscription. You get the add-on plus updates and support as long as your subscription stays active.

  • Is Custom Fields included in my subscription?

    The Custom Fields addon is a paid addon included in all FW Real Estate subscription packages (Start, Medium, Pro). Install it from your Client Section.

  • What field types can I create?

    Four types are available: text input for single-line text or numbers, dropdown select for single-choice menus, checkbox list for multi-select options, and boolean toggle for yes/no values. Select and checkbox types support unlimited predefined options with translatable labels.

  • How do I organize fields into sections on the property page?

    Create custom groups and assign them to tabs. Fields display according to their tab ordering number: 0-99 shows before property details, 100-199 after details, and 200+ as additional sections. The frontend automatically renders each tab as a separate section.

  • Can I make a custom field required?

    Yes. When creating or editing a field, toggle the Required setting to yes. Agents will not be able to save a property without filling in mandatory custom fields. Enforcement happens at save time.

  • Can I restrict fields to specific user roles?

    Yes. Each custom field has an Access Level setting. Restrict sensitive data to agents or admins, while hiding it from guests or registered users. Fields respect Joomla access levels and inheritance.

  • Are custom fields searchable?

    Yes, when combined with the Search Layouts addon. Visitors can filter properties by your custom field values in search forms and results. Without Search Layouts, custom fields display on property pages but are not filterable.
